Home....

We made it home, finally.........we had a 3 hour delay, due to bad weather in the UK on Friday, some planes due to land at Heathrow were diverted to Gatwick, which caused delays there and when our plane was ready to leave Gatwick, another plane had to make an emergency landing which then closed a runway for 2 hours so everything in and out of Gatwick was held up some more...........BUT we have arrived home, with slightly more than we went with.  Ross added 5 kilos to his bags, Chaz added 10 kilos and I (who bought the least I'm sure) added 15 kilos!!!!!!!  I don't know how that happened because all the books I bought I kept in my hand luggage, knowing they would weigh the most........but hey ho, such is life.............we were unpacking cases at the check in desk and all of us ended up with 4 carry on pieces............good job we were flying Upper Class and were allowed extra hand baggage........

I'm slowly making my way through a pot of coffee and loads of laundry...........I truly hate the coming home part of the holiday, it always seems like so much work...........

Once I'm fully over the jetlag and sorted I'll be back with more news, but for now, this is it...........

Coming to and end....

Well I think end of holiday blues has set in today............part of me wants to come home - there are a few people I'd like to see, but there is also a huge part of me that just wants to stay here and have a fresh start............

Chaz has had her last shopping trip this morning and is now busy trying to fit the new things into her case - even though she came with a half empty case, I think its going to be a struggle!!!!

I managed to get myself a bag - no surprises there........but it is truly scrummy and a gorgeous shape - soI'll leave you with a few pics of the bag, as I am going to spend the rest of the day in bed, doing some stitching as I'm not feeling great today....

When in Vegas...

......we lay by the pool until it gets too hot.....

When we come out at 8am it's already about 90 degrees, and deserted except for us....

When it gets too hot, we go up to the room and get showered....this is our bathroom at the Wynn...

Then we head off out to lunch.....everything in Vegas is over the top and enormous....

And then its time to shop............Saks, Macys, Nordstrom, Ed Hardy, Hollister, Abercrombie to name just a few.........and sightseeing too.  Although we've been here quite a few times, this place changes so much, there is always something new to look at.  To be honest though, we've been dealing with so much......well I don't know what to call it - hassle, nastiness, disappointment - back home that this truly has been a holiday to chill out and relax.......as best we can.

I have enjoyed my holiday, but I haven't been able to take a holiday from my feelings of depression, unfortunately they came with me.......unwanted luggage!!!!!  But it has been good to regroup and catch my breath.........

Tomorrow Chaz is going off out for the evening with a friend Rachel.......we met her last year when we were here at the church we go to over here, and Chaz and Rachel have kept in touch, so they are off out tomorrow night for a youth event.......we leave on Friday and all too soon will be home and back to the above mentioned mess..........but I am excited to get home and see Tim and Jem's baby Mayana.........she was born the morning we left, a massive 10lbs 10oz..........makes your eyes water doesn't it????  And of course I can't wait to see my gorgeous nieces Lily and Analise.........

Unwinding!!!

Well here we are, back in Vegas.  And boy, is it hot.........currently 110 degrees and a weather warning that it will get hotter by the end of the week!!!!

We are staying at the Wynn again.........this place is awesome, by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in.  I'm coming back in October, with Helen, which was my 40th pressie from Ross and we will be staying at the sister hotel the Encore.......I had a little walk through to the Encore Tues morning at about 3am (jetlagged) and it looks very nice.

So far, we have swam, sunbathed and shopped - Chaz has hit Ed Hardy's fairly hard, and got some gorgeous stuff.........

I'll be back in a couple of days, hopefully with some piccies and some more news.  At the moment we are just enjoying being away from home (and the hassles back there) and having fun with each other with no harder decision to make than where we are going to eat..........relaxing and unwinding is all we've managed so far......

Tick, tock...

I'm amazed that more than a month has passed since I was last here.......I don't know where the time has gone.  It has been busy......my sister moved house and so I had the pleasure of my niece for a couple of days, I've been busy making baby quilts and bags (pics to follow), I went to the quilt show at Sandown, I've been to Royal Ascot and I've been enjoying the sunshine.  Isn't the weather gorgeous at the moment???  Me and Ross have been spending some time soaking up the rays, trying to get a base tan before our holiday.  Although Ross has spent so much time on the golf course he looks like he's just had 3 weeks away somewhere sunny.

Charley has almost finished college - the last week this week!!!!!  Eeeek, there's no getting away from the fact that she'll be moving to Brighton in September.........all dependant on grades of course.  Brighton is a fab place to live and I know she'll love every minute of it and will positively blossom down there, and it's not too far away, so I'm sure I will pop down and meet Chaz for shopping, coffee and lunch trips.

13 days and counting until our much waited for holiday.  It's Las Vegas again.......which is like a home from home now.  I love the heat, the hotels, the luxury, the service, the shows and the shopping......plus it's great to spend 2 weeks with Ross and Chaz, totally uninterrupted.

Well, back to the sewing machine.  I still have a few projects to finish before my holiday and also need to put a few little hand sewing projects together to take away with me.........and I have some audio books to download to my ipod to listen to while lazing by the pool.  Be back soon.
